Our client Leading Hospital Group in UAE requires for their headquarter in Abu Dhabi:
HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT
The Healthcare assistant is a healthcare professional who assists the Registered Nurse/ Midwife with non-nursing duties of patients with various healthcare needs.
Roles and responsibilities:
- To assist in the provision of high quality care to patients and their families under the direction and supervision of the Registered nurse/Midwife.
- Demonstrate a range of skills to meet the needs of patients whilst promoting dignity, privacy and respect.
- To provide a range of healthcare and non-nursing duties, ensuring an efficient and effective service to the Ward/Department at all times.
- To assist with administration and non-nursing duties.
- To perform basic care under the direction of a Registered Nurse / Midwife. Assist the trained nurse with patient’s daily personal hygiene, bathing/showering, eating and drinking, ambulating, turning and positioning of patients etc.
- To assist all patients who are able, towards independence and activity under the direction of the Registered Nurse/ Midwife in charge.
- To provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call bells and requests; reporting observations of the patient to team leader.
- To assist in lifting and turning patients, transporting patients in wheelchairs, stretches or beds between departments.
- To change bed linen when needed/making beds and perform light housekeeping duties in patient’s rooms.
- To assist to transfer patients to other departments.
- To accompany patients who are ready for discharge to the main exit (lobby).
- To transport specimens to laboratories.
- To transport equipment and patient records between departments.
- To support the Registered Nursing staff and Ward Clerk in the clerical, administrative and receptionist duties in the ward.
- To assist in the maintenance of stocks and non-medical supplies.
- To develop and utilize good communication skills, and receive and pass on telephone messages.
- To correctly use aids and equipment supplied for patients. Report needs and obvious defects of this equipment to the Registered Nurse / Midwife in charge.
- To cover the duties of the Ward Clerk in her absence.
Requisitos
Education and licenses
- Minimum High school diploma.
- Nursing qualification without license preferred
Experience
- At least 2 years working in a hospital environment / Nursing experience / background
