PATIENT ADMINISTRATION AMBASSADOR | BILLING AND INSURANCE COORDINATOR
Roles and responsibilities:
- Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Adheres to DAEH standards of grooming, hygiene and uniform.
- Performs all duties at the front desk related to the registration, and billing of the patient for services booked and or received at DAEH.
- Confirms patient insurance eligibility and/or benefits.
- Performs positive identification of patients including insurance card and identification card.
- Record patients’ pertinent information into computer database health information system.
- Ensures that pre-certification and/or authorization are obtained and updates the system as needed.
- Communicates directly with patients and families regarding insurance coverage and cash payments.
- Checks and ensures financial liability is discussed and understood by the patient at point of registration.
- Obtains signatures for financial consent.
- Patient Account Representatives recheck all bills generated after entry of clinical encounter
- Have knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
- Preparing the daily cash collection done at their desk.
- Responsible to settle/report for the credit card daily collection done at their desk.
- Safeguards and reconciles money collection daily.
- Participate in an out of hours On–Call Rota as required. Provide Public Holiday/ Friday/ Out of Hours covered as required.
- Help maintain a high level of service by promoting efficient, effective communication and liaising with assisting other clerical and clinical staff in matters relating to billing / cashier service.
- To perform any other duty as required by the line manager or supervisor that commensurate with the post.
Requisitos
Education and licenses
- Bachelor Degree Graduate in Business Administration or similar field
Experience
- 3 years’ experience with all aspect of hospital/medical registration and billing.
- Previous healthcare operation or healthcare insurance experience.
Working conditions
- The incumbent will be required to work during weekends, public holidays and nights.
- May be required to work overtime depending on the needs of the Organization.
- This job may require the ability to continuously stand or walk. It may also require the ability to bend, squat and lift documents and files.
