Job Details

As a Finance Transformation Manager (ERP & Finance Systems) you will lead the migration of ATOM's finance landscape from the current environment - ATOM FICA, the Billing Engine and SAP ERP - to a modern, scalable target architecture. Reporting to the Head of Product & Delivery, you will act as the bridge between Finance and Technology, owning the end-to-end transformation lifecycle from as-is process mapping through to-be design, product selection, implementation, training and benefits realisation. This is a hands-on role for a finance professional who understands both the accounting substance and the systems that deliver it, and who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, regulated specialty insurance environment.

Process Analysis & Target Design

  • Document and analyse as-is finance processes across the record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, premium accounting, billing, settlement and treasury cycles.
  • Identify pain points, manual workarounds, control weaknesses and reconciliation burdens across ATOM FICA, the Billing Engine and SAP ERP.
  • Design to-be process models that simplify, standardise and automate finance operations, aligned to the target system architecture and to group accounting policy.
  • Produce process documentation, data flow diagrams, control matrices and functional requirement specifications to a standard suitable for vendor selection and audit.

Product Selection & Solution Evaluation

  • Define selection criteria, run structured RFI/RFP processes, and evaluate ERP, billing, sub-ledger, reconciliation, tax and reporting solutions against functional, technical, regulatory and commercial requirements.
  • Build business cases, TCO models and implementation roadmaps to support investment decisions at executive and board level.
  • Assess build-versus-buy trade-offs, including where capability should sit natively within ATOM versus in a third-party finance system.
  • Manage vendor evaluation, proof-of-concept exercises, reference checks, and contract and SOW negotiation support alongside Procurement and Legal.

Implementation & Delivery

  • Lead or co-lead end-to-end finance system implementations, covering scoping, configuration, integration design, testing, cutover and hypercare.
  • Own the finance workstream within wider transformation programmes, managing scope, plan, budget, dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Define and oversee chart of accounts design, ledger structures, cost centre and profit centre hierarchies, and multi-entity and multi-currency configuration.
  • Specify and validate integrations between the finance platform, ATOM's insurance operating system, banking channels, and downstream reporting and data platforms.

Data Migration, Controls & Compliance

  • Design and govern the finance data migration approach, including data mapping, cleansing, opening balance strategy, reconciliation and sign-off.
  • Ensure the target design embeds appropriate financial controls, segregation of duties, approval workflows and audit trails.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS), statutory and regulatory reporting obligations, UAE VAT and corporate tax requirements, and DIFC/DFSA expectations where relevant.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements arising from the transformation

Training, Adoption & Change Management

  • Develop and deliver training materials, user guides, process manuals and workshops for finance and operational users.
  • Drive user adoption through structured change management, stakeholder engagement and post-go-live support.
  • Establish ways of working, ownership and governance for the finance system landscape after go-live, including a continuous improvement backlog.

Collaboration & Ways of Working

  • Partner with Finance, Underwriting Operations, Claims, Product, Engineering and Data teams to ensure finance requirements are properly reflected in the platform.
  • Translate accounting and regulatory requirements into clear technical specifications, and technical constraints into terms Finance stakeholders can act on.
  • Report progress, risks and decisions clearly to executive stakeholders, and escalate early where scope or timelines are at risk.
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) or a finance professional with an equivalent depth of practical accounting experience.
  • Proven track record delivering ERP and finance system implementations or migrations end to end, including at least one full lifecycle as a lead or senior workstream owner.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP (S/4HANA, SAP FI/CO, SAP BTP) and/or comparable ERP platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite or Workday Financials.
  • Demonstrable experience in as-is process mapping and to-be process design, using recognised techniques and notation (BPMN or similar).
  • Practical experience of billing, sub-ledger, premium accounting or receivables/payables engines, ideally in insurance, MGA, broking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, period-end close and statutory reporting.
  • Working knowledge of finance data structures, data migration and reconciliation, with the ability to interrogate data directly (SQL or equivalent) as a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with IFRS, and exposure to insurance-specific accounting concepts (premium recognition, IBA/client money, reinsurance settlements) is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of Agile or hybrid delivery environments and comfort working alongside product and engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with credibility at both operational finance and executive level.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • At minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years focused on finance systems implementation or finance transformation.
