DHL Global Forwarding - United Arab Emirates has an opening for a Business Development Manager in Abu Dhabi where you will support, develop, and administer business development plans and processes to generate new/additional business, maximise profit and grow the market share in line with business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies. In this Business Development Manager position

• 
  You will support administration of business development plans and processes to achieve targeted customer growth and retention rate, revenue targets and budgets.
• You will develop new business and maximize exposure amongst targeted prospects.
• You will use information and insights from market studies and feasibility studies to assess market potential.
• You will identify new business development opportunities and initiate contact with prospects and develop relationships with prospects and potential key accounts.
• You will identify prospective customer needs and matches these with company services.
• You will pursue leads, conduct pre-proposal visitations, prepare proposals and discuss terms of sale to close.
• You will initiate new business relationships with non-buying accounts that have been targeted by the company.
• You will coordinate for meeting customer requests and sell services that are being promoted..
• You will coordinate sales efforts with inside sales and provide flow of data on account competitors and suppliers to product management.
• You will identify problems that may not be clear in own area of authority and modify work methods accordingly without the benefit of defined procedures.
• You will explain facts, practices, policies, etc. to both internal and external parties adhering to narrowly defined procedures, standards and guidelines.

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
• 2 years’ experience or more in a similar role

Originally founded in 1969 to deliver documents between San Francisco and Honolulu, the company expanded its service throughout the world by the late 1970s.
The company was primarily interested in offshore and inter-continental deliveries, but the success of FedEx prompted their own intra-US expansion starting in 1983. DHL aggressively expanded to countries that could not be served by any other delivery service, including the Soviet Union, Eastern Bloc, Iraq, Iran, China, Vietnam and North Korea.
