About the role

This role will focus on driving bottom line impact covering suppliers, production, physical logistics, and customers. You will work on projects to help clients overcome typical supply chain challenges and integrate solutions across the organization, supplementing our client experience through targeted research programs focused on what really drives their supply chain performance.

Your role will require you to work with colleagues across GHD and clients to build the strategies, capabilities, systems and processes needed to deliver bottom line results and ensure those results are sustained. You will develop trust-based relationships with clients and be seen as a specialist in implementation and delivering results. Closely cooperating with other GHD enterprise, Advisory Business Activity Leaders, and the broader GHD business including, Marketing Leaders and Regional Technical Leaders, this role is a key element of our growth strategy.

The position is offered as part of the EMEA GHD Advisory team and may reside within any of our UAE offices. We also offer flexible working arrangements and will consider candidates looking for both a full-time and part-time positions.

Core responsibilities

  • To deliver GHD Advisory’s services to our clients pertaining to your areas of expertise or further afield as opportunities dictate.
  • Assists and contributes to securing a pipeline of work for the Group in line with that group’s business plan, under the direction of Team Leaders, Executive Advisors or the Business Group Leader.
  • Leveraging internal and external relationships and contributing to business development activities within the team.
  • Provide direction and coaching to develop Logistics and Supply Chain team members and contribute to the overall functioning of the Business Group.
  • Technical leadership on projects as required and direction and input on tenders/bids or proactive client proposals.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships to support the growth of logistics and supply chain opportunities throughout the region and support the delivery of new and existing client opportunities.
  • Support the GHD logistics and supply chain practice so that we meet GHD’s overall objectives in terms of financial performance, risk management and strategic development having regard to GHD’s core values.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: design and implementation of logistics strategy, port and freight master planning, intermodal transport design and optimization, supply chain planning and management processes, supply chain modelling and optimization, procurement maturity assessment, supply chain digitization and supply chain de-carbonization.
  • Preferably with 5+ years of consultancy experience
  • Advanced graduate degree and excellent academic record required (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.)
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in Arabic and English
  • Strong project management skills - PMP certification preferred
  • Strong analytical and market research skills
  • Prior experience working in GCC / Middle East
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent detailed oriented technical report writing skills
  • Ability to travel as required preferred
