Job Purpose

Oversee the section including contractors to ensure that the respective maintenance support services, including civil, welding, rigging, insulation, and scaffolding activities are performed in support of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and Fix-It-Now (FIN) maintenance activities so that plant systems, structures, components and facilities are maintained and operated within the design criteria.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.

  • Provide input into the development of the Department’s systems and processes, as well develop, and implement the Section’s procedures, identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Section, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.
  • Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, to meet the Section’s requirements and standards.

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the Section by the delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality services and a responsible environmental attitude.

Maintenance Support Services
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Oversee all activities in rigging, insulation welding, coatings, civil work and scaffolding, (includes the oversight of maintenance support services contractors performing these activities) to ensure alignment of support maintenance activities with Operations, other Maintenance functions, Work Management and Outage Management
  • Oversee the Maintenance Rigging and Lifting Program to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Oversee the Maintenance FME Program and ensure successful program implementation.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Planning team to make sure that any related job to be execute in timely manner.
  • Ensure that welding group are qualified to perform the job so that the program is executed by qualified personal, and standard being adhered.
  • Provide the required support for any online leak repairs to ease the process.
  • Ensure rigging and lifting program are executed by qualified personnel and standards are being adhered.to so that program activities are performed safely and effectively.
  • Ensure Scaffolding and Rigging and lifting equipment are inspected per the required frequencies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulations.
  • Assess maintenance programs and standards and provide input to the Support Programs department for improvements.
  • Manage administration of plant level activities in support of Nuclear Performance Improvement (NPI) to ensure reduction and avoidance of errors.
  • Coordinate training to ensure timely qualification and requalification of plant maintenance personnel.
  • Verify tasks are performed in a timely manner and with quality to achieve the highest level of safety and reliability.
  • Verify that Nawah and supplemental workers comply with the Conduct of Maintenance to ensure best practices are implemented.
  • Endorse training, industry benchmarking, and World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Prepare for World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) pre-start up peer reviews to ensure alignment to industry best practices.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Monitor training effectiveness and consult with training staff to improve training effectiveness.
  • Relay management expectations on the conduct of maintenance and communicate with the Section to ensure high level of safety and reliability of plant systems.
  • Critically evaluate performance of individual staff to develop necessary training.
  • Verify that training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills to ensure staff are properly trained and qualified to conduct assigned responsibilities.

QualificationMin: • Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 6 years of relevant experience, out of which:
  • 2 years Power Plant Experience.
  • 1 year Nuclear Power Plant Experience.

QualificationMax: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or any relevant
  • 10 years of relevant experience, out of which:
  • 5 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience.
  • 5 years of rigging and lifting experience.
  • APR-1400 or OPR-1000 maintenance and engineering experience.
