Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and research-driven Genetic Research Scientist to join our growing Research & Development (R&D) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic and research background in genetics/genomics, a proven record of publishing peer-reviewed research, and hands-on experience with Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS).

The successful candidate will contribute to genetic and genomic research projects, analyse complex genetic datasets, conduct high-quality scientific research, and translate findings into peer-reviewed publications and clinically relevant insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct peer-reviewed research in genetics, genomics, and related areas.
  • Design, conduct, and contribute to Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and related genetic analyses.
  • Develop, validate, and apply Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS) where appropriate.
  • Analyse and interpret genetic and genomic datasets using appropriate statistical and research methodologies.
  • Identify genetic associations and translate research findings into meaningful scientific insights.
  • Prepare manuscripts, reports, abstracts, and other scientific materials for publication.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and contribute to the development of high-quality research publications.
  • Conduct literature reviews and remain up to date with developments in genetics, genomics, statistical genetics, and related fields.
  • Collaborate with clinical, scientific, data, and R&D teams on research projects.
  • Maintain high standards of scientific integrity, research quality, documentation, and data interpretation.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field. A PhD is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in genetic, genomic, or biomedical research.
  • Demonstrated experience with Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS).
  • Proven experience in developing and/or applying Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS).
  • A demonstrated record of publishing peer-reviewed research in scientific journals.
  • Experience conducting and communicating peer-reviewed genetic/genomic research.
  • Strong understanding of genetic research methodologies, statistical genetics, and genomic data analysis.
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills.
  • Candidates must be able to provide evidence of relevant published research/publications.
